KIRK HAMMETT Screwed Up The "Nothing Else Matters" Intro Live, Had A Good Laugh About It

Seriously though. Hammett had a good laugh.

Metallica played the Boston Calling festival in Allston, MA on May 29. The band played the classic ballad "Nothing Else Matters," though they had to go through the iconic guitar intro twice after Kirk Hammett messed it up the first time. "Sorry, guys. You're so kickass. I got distracted by how kickass you are," said Hammett before restarting the song. The best part is Hammett's reaction – dude comically falls down, makes a joke to the crowd, and then goes on to play the song perfectly. Totally awesome and a nice, lighthearted moment for everyone!

Hammett recently played a show with The Wedding Band on May 27 at Jam Cellars Ballroom at Margrit Mondavi Theatre in Napa, CA. The band features guitarist Doc Coyle (Bad Wolves, God Forbid), bassist Robert Trujillo (Metallica), drummer Jon Theodore (Queens Of The Stone Age), and vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel). You can check out footage of that show here.
