It is no secret that Iran is not the most welcoming place for the metal genre, with bands facing long prison sentences just for playing their music. So for a band to risk all of that in an attempt to help and inspire people with their music, that is about as metal as you can freaking get.
Winterise's first and only single, "Black Shadows in My Mind", from their upcoming album, Army of Undead, due out October 26th is hard-hitting, classic death metal dedicated to those enduring and braving through a highly overlooked but rampant problem – mental illness.
This track is every bit of classic melodic death metal that you could ever ask for. Slow tempo riffs with classic drums and dominating vocals cap out the death metal feel. All coupled with a powerful message.
The band comments: "This song is dedicated to those with mental health problems and emphasize how important it is and how it will affect people's mind. Showing how being judged and miss treated can haunt people throughout their lives and affects their mental health.
