IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT Deliver A Nightmarish Video For "Breath of Innocence"

Having covered Imperial Triumphant extensively since 2012 when Abominamentvm, was released, it's been really cool to witness the band's continual evolution over time. One that now trends towards experimental and dissonant death metal than the more wholly black metal sound they began with. As such, I completely understand the band's interest in re-branding themselves as Avant-death, as it definitely seems more in line with what they're doing now.

If by some chance you missed Inceste last year, that fuck up is on you. But we're giving you a chance to rectify that with today's music video premiere for "Breath of Innocence". The song itself is a depraved and experimental work of art, one baptized in unholy amorphousness, unwilling to comfortably reside in any easily explained sonic delineation.

The video we are premiering for it works in a similar way, reveling in a dim black and white shot style, zooming in and out of stark New York shot views interspersed with dark creepy footage of what seems to be a woman engaging in kinky bondage and a menacing Marquis de Sade, in line with the lyrical themes from Sade behind Inceste. To add to the horror factor, Leslie Barany, the actor playing Marquis de Sade in the video, is H.R. Giger's agent. Interestingly enough, the video's director, Brendan McGowan, appeared as the lead role in last year's Ghost video for their song "Square Hammer". If this was your first time hearing music from Inceste, you can order the release through the Redefining Darkness Bandcamp here. The band's other fantastic releases can be found on the Imperial Triumphant Bandcamp page here. Be sure to follow Imperial Triumphant over on their Facebook Page as well.
