Here's MATT HEAFY Doing The JOHNNY CASH Version Of NINE INCH NAILS' "Hurt"

He hurt himself today.

In 2002, Johnny Cash covered Nine Inch Nails' 1994 track "Hurt" for his American IV: The Man Comes Around album. The cover was incredibly well-received, with Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor saying he had "tears welling, silence, [and] goose-bumps" the first time he heard it.

Now Matt Heafy of Trivium and Ibaraki is offering his own take on the Cash version, and it's pretty damn good! The cover stays true to the Cash version of course and Heafy's vocals suit the style very well. And given Heafy's assortment of covers over the years, I guess it's not really surprising that he nailed this one just like the rest of 'em.
