Back in 1978 in northwestern Guyana, The Peoples Temple Agricultural Project was formed under the leadership of Jim Jones. On November 18, 1978, 918 people committed suicide with Kool Aid laced with Valium, chloral hydrate, cyanide, and Phenergan.
Basically, it's the type of thing that death metal's lyrics generally deal with, and Gatecreeper's video for "Stronghold" uses footage of the camp both before and after the suicides. If you haven't done so, grab yourself a copy of Gatecreeper's Sonoran Deprivation here.
