Back before Pat Lachman fronted Damageplan, he played guitar for a band called Diesel Machine, which released one album in 2000 on SPV/Steamhammer called Torture Test. Soon after its release, bassist Rich Gonzalez was involved in a near-fatal motorcycle accident and the band dissolved.
Lachman went on to sing for Damageplan, while vocalist AJ Cavalier was eventually tapped to front Soil. Gonzalez, permanently wheelchair-bound, slowly returned to make music in American Aftermath with future Kyng guitarist Eddie Veliz before Diesel Machine decided to get back together.
Now more nu metal than ever before, the band's "bonecrushing metal maelstrom" has returned in the form of the band's sophomore album, Evolve, which is due out sometime this year. The first single, "Shut It," has been released and you can check it out above.
Chock full of riffs and hardcore vocals, Diesel Machine is a trip back into a time when your parents didn't want to take you to Hot Topic and facial piercings were all the rage. Now, shut it and play the damn song.
