CURSE (Ex-LIGHTNING RULES) Riffs Hard On New Song "20th Century Dreams"

Formerly known as Lightning Rules.

Curse, the band formerly known as Lightning Rules, have just released their new song "20th Century Dreams" and we're more than stoked to bring forth all these riffs for you! Vocalist Wess Willis elaborates on both the song and the band's name change.

Catch the band in New York City, as they are playing Sunnyvale on 11/22.

"The Lightning Rules moniker had been a great vehicle for our songs for a while. But eventually the music seemed to outgrow it. As we dove into deeper themes lyrically and pushed the playing in new directions we wanted a new label. Being cursed touches on fate and autonomy, sometimes being driven to make music can even feel like a curse. Or it's just swearing."

For the video, we leaned into those cycles of power and violence. The same sorts of terrible scenes play out chronologically through the century, meanwhile leaders smile and shake hands with each other. The first two sections end with moments of catastrophic destruction.. "We don’t reference these events lightly, but the consequences of these mistakes is often unspeakable violence and we couldn’t shy away from that. The last sequence has more current events but is open-ended. Whats waiting for us if we don’t change? ”
