BATHER Apologies For Nothing On New Song "Phantom Guilt"

"It’s a different kind of heavy. It’s my love letter to self destruction."

Bather, the a 5-piece alternative metal band from Columbus, OH, will release their new EP Phantom Guilt on November 27. We're premiering the title track from the EP for you all today, because who doesn't need some crushing riffs in their life?

"One time during a therapy session my therapist had told me she feels like I have spent my whole life apologizing for just existing," said vocalist Josh Richter. "And that I carry this guilt around with me for no reason. A guilt for something that doesn’t exist. What she said sat heavy with me for almost a decade. After hearing that and letting it stew in me for all these years I knew I had to write about it.

"I didn’t know when or with what project, I just knew it had to come out at some point sonically. So, after about a 10 years of projects, songs, and other artistic endeavors I found a place for it. It’s not only our first single but also the title track for our new record. The second we wrapped up the writing of this song I knew I found a home for this concept. It’s a different kind of heavy. It’s my love letter to self destruction."
