Thy Art Is Murder is about to have a pretty big 2023.
In an interview with Heavy New York, Thy Art Is Murder guitarist Andy Marsh said the band has both a new EP and a new album coming within the next 18 months. Marsh also noted that the standalone 2020 single "Killing Season" was intentionally written as a throwback to the band's old sound, and that new Thy Art Is Murder is… well, it's something.
"Moving forward now, it's been so bloody long. we made 'Killing Season' at the end of that Cannibal Corpse tour in 2019. We've just put together a whole new record over the last three months, which I don't even know what it sounds like – I mean, I know what it sounds like but I don't know what you'd call it.
"We've got an EP coming out quite soon. So we've got a lot of music planned for the next 18 months. I can't give an answer as to what it sounds like because I've got no bloody idea."
The new Thy Art Is Murder record was produced by Will Putney (Fit For An Autopsy), who has produced every one of the band's albums aside from their debut 2010 effort The Adversary. You can check out a brief teaser of that here.
