Superjoint Ritual, who is here on out being referred to as Superjoint for legal reasons, recently announced its first tour in quite some time. We've also known that Superjoint has some tunes possibly in the can, but it originally sounded like they were just vocalist Phil Anselmo messing with some stuff and that was it.
Apparently it goes a little deeper than that! Anselmo recently told Rolling Stone that there are a few tunes being jammed on with the possibility of a 7" or something like that.
"We've got about four or five songs we've been messing with. They have potential — I just don't think they're completely nailed down yet. So I can't say we'll do a record right off the bat, but there is a damn good chance something new will come out in some form or another, whether it's a split seven-inch, a complete Superjoint seven-inch — maybe a 10-inch EP. Something like that is very possible, but I can't say when."
Interesting! It doesn't sound like we should be holding our breath for the new stuff to materialize or anything, but the fact that there are new Superjoint tunes in our futures is pretty exciting!
