STATIC-X's "Reunion" Album Will Feature Mostly Wayne Static's Vocals, Only One Guest Spot

Static-X's reunion-type album Project Regeneration has undergone quite a few changes. Initially the album was supposed to feature some vocals recorded by their late frontman Wayne Static, alongside tons of guests like Disturbed's David Draiman, Fear Factory's Burton C. Bell, and Five Finger Death Punch's Ivan Moody. Now the album has been a little altered.

According to bassist Tony Campos in an interview with Sticks And Stones, it'll be almost all of Static's vocals and one guest spot from Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen. Campos adds that this is the reason the album was delayed.

“It started with five demos that Wayne had done shortly before his passing that he had given to a producer friend of ours, who then gave them to me after Wayne had died. Only one of the songs had Wayne‘s vocals on them, and the rest were just rough demos. We started out with that, and then original and longtime producer, Ulrich Wild, turned me on to three songs that didn’t make the ‘Start A War‘.

So we kept Wayne‘s vocal performances, reworked the music, and so we had four songs with Wayne‘s vocals on them. And while looking for all our live backing tracks, we discovered an additional seven [or] eight songs that Wayne had demoed. And a lot of that stuff were just vocal performances; the tapes where he had recorded the music were never found. So we wrote new music for all that stuff. So now the majority of the songs on this record will feature Wayne‘s vocals.”

Another recent report by Blabbermouth states the album will allegedly feature contributions from Tod Rex "Tripp Eisen" Salvador. Salvador played with Static-X between 2001 and 2005 before being arrested twice for having sex with two underage girls. He was released from prison in 2008. Static-X has not yet confirmed or denied Salvador's comments.

Static-X will be touring for basically the rest of 2019. They'll be fronted by a guy named Xer0, who everyone seems to think is Dope‘s Edsel Dope. Project Regeneration currently has no release date.
