SLIPKNOT Frontman Writing New Book; Publisher Wouldn't Allow His Original Title

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has completed another book. It has nothing to do with Slipknot. The book is going to be called You're Making Me Hate You: An Uncommon Guide To Common Sense and is scheduled for release on June 30th, 2015. The official book description reads:

"In the tradition of the late great George Carlin, New York Times bestselling author and lead singer of SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR Corey Taylor sounds off in hilarious fashion about the many vagaries of modern life that piss him off.

"Whether it's people's rude behavior in restaurants and malls, the many indignities of air travel, eye-searingly terrible fashion choices, dangerously clueless drivers, and — most of all — the sorry state of much modern music, Taylor's humor and insight cover civil society's seeming decline — sparing no one along the way, least of all himself.

"Holding nothing back and delivered in Taylor's inimitable voice, 'You're Making Me Hate You' is a cathartic critique of the strange world in which we find ourselves."

I know that Taylor didn't write this description but to compare Taylor to one of the top 3 all time greatest comedians ever, George Carlin, seems pretty offensive to any sort of comedy nerd. Which is not to say that this book won't be funny, but Carlin did stand up for 40 years, meanwhile, Taylor is primarily not a comedy writer. Again, a total reach for De Capo press.

Even funnier, Taylor mentioned on a recent Nerdist podcast that he wanted the title to be You're Making Me Hate You (Or How Justin Bieber Sucked A Million Dicks To Make His Money) but for some reason, his publisher didn't go for it. This is the same Corey Taylor that was opened to collaborating with Justin Bieber after a Slipknot/Biebs mashup went viral.

This will be Taylor's third (!) book after his two memoirs, Seven Deadly Sins and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Heaven.
