Rammstein recently gave a major update about their new record, namely that they're almost done recording it and that it'll feature both a live orchestra and choir. This is extremely welcome news considering we've been talking about the potential follow-up to their 2009 album Liebe ist für alle da since at least late 2015 at this point.
Now in a new interview with Music Radar, guitarist Paul Landers reveals that Rammstein expects their new album to be out in spring 2019. So there's an extremely real possibility that those attending Rammstein's New Year's Eve shows will hear some of the new material!
"Right now, it looks like this new record will be coming out next spring, and what we've been mainly doing is playing together in a circle, with all the guys in one room.
"We all go into the mixing desk and I had my PL1 prototype going direct. Same for the some of the other guys — our drummer Christoph Schneider has these electronic drums, so we've been using that to play a bunch of ideas together.
"It hasn't been like a pre-production where each member is alone — it's been more of an all-together kind of thing. We liked the sound of it so much that we've decided to make the record more of a band-unit recording than a bunch of guys playing separately."
Landers adds that the new album has a very live feel to it. Considering how good Rammstein is live, it seems safe to assume that at the very least the record will sound awesome.
