A few weeks back we spotlighted a new segment on the late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live called #HeathCareHero. Previously, the show had Dave Grohl meet a superfan, and on the most recent edition, Metallica's Lars Ulrich brightened one front line worker's day.
Long Island nurse Tracey Bednar could not control her excitement when Lars appeared on screen, and thanked him for Metallica getting her through her drives home. Lars thanked her back and said she is his personal guest the next time the band is out anywhere near Long Island.
Lars also announced Metallica's next release and showed it off.
“This is our next release called ‘S&M2’ [showing the new box set], which is coming up in August. You [Tracey] will have the first signed copy of this special box set from me and the fellas.”
One assumes this will feature live audio from Metallica's performances at the opening of the new arena in Oakland, California last year. Video of the performance was briefly shown in theaters. Here's some bootleg footage.
