Back in 2014, System of A Down drummer John Dolyman began teasing what we would eventually learn would be a new solo album. All the way back in June 2014, System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan began a Kickstarter for his covers band These Grey Men. The Kickstarter raised $55,215 of the $55,000 goal, the expected release date was January 2015, and then pretty much nothing happened.
Well, good news – looks like the album will be released in the next few months. Speaking with SOAD Mexico, Dolmayan noted “There’s some cool artists on it. Serj sang two songs. The Avenged Sevenfold singer – I don’t know if you know Matt, he’s fantastic. Really nice guy, by the way, and he sang a song.”
We already knew that Serj laid some vocals on a track as well.
So, while we aren't holding out for a new System of A Down album, this could be a nice consolation.
