New York black metal for all!

New York black metal band Woe is finally in the studio recording the follow-up to their 2017 album Hope Attrition. And sure – Woe dropped their A Violent Dread EP in 2019 with an original song and a crushing cover of Dawn's "The Knell And The World," but it's exciting that we're finally getting a new ful-length from these guys!

Notably absent from the photo above and the caption is guitarist Matt Mewton. No word on if Matt is still in the band or if Woe is a trio now, but I'm sure we'll find out.

"Album 5 drums are complete!" said Woe in a statement. "They were recorded at Red Planet outside Philadelphia with Joe Smiley, who also recorded and mixed the first Woe album some 15 years ago. It was surreal to be back where it started. I’m moving onto the other instruments imminently from my own music space.

"In the photo, the team that made it happen. Left to right: Lev, Chris, Grzesiek. I should add: the new album will be released this year. Once again, [Vendetta Records] will be our partner for it.""
