Rammstein have confirmed something we knew since September, they're back in the studio! Back then, Rammstein World reported the band is currently at renowned French recording studio La Fabrique in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France. Today, the band confirmed those reports.
Rammstein shared the below photo on their social media with the caption "Sadly no tour this year – but it’s great to be back in the studio!"
Drummer Christoph Schneider revealed back in June that the band was working on new music in quarantine. Speaking to the Rodeo Radio podcast, Schneider said "We still have so many ideas lying around, so many unfinished songs. We have met and we are working on new songs. We want to work on songs. But whether or not it will turn into an album, nobody knows yet."
Rammstein is celebrating the 25th birthday of their Herzeleid with an anniversary edition of the album due out on December 4. Herzeleid (XXV Anniversary Edition – Remastered) will feature the entire album remastered, some new packaging, and revised artwork done by original album artist Dirk Rudolph. Pre-orders for the anniversary edition of Herzeleid are available here.
Rammstein postponed their North American tour and are working on rescheduling it for 2021.
