A new project known as Slower—featuring members of Fu Manchu, Monolord, and Year Of The Cobra—is an upcoming tribute to the one and only kings of thrash, Slayer. In an awesome twist of irony, Slower takes select Slayer tracks, and well, slows 'em the fuck down, making for an extremely doomy brew of tribute, satire, and fun. You can check out a snippet of "War Ensemble" from Slayer's Seasons in the Abyss LP that was shared to Instagram recently.
Slower currently consists of vocalist Amy Barrysmith (Year Of The Cobra), vocalist Laura Pleasants (Kylesa), guitarist Bob Balch (Fu Manchu), bassist Peder Bergstrand (Lowrider), bassist Scott Reeder (Fireball Ministry, ex-Kyuss), and drummer Esben Willems (Monolord).
