This edition doesn't include Time II, but it does include technicality, dance tunes, fuzz, and more! To the metals…
Ded – Mis-An-Thrope
Genre: Nu metal
Origin: Phoenix, Arizona
Label: Suretone)
Buy now on Amazon.com
In a world where Nu Metal nostalgia is becoming more rampant, a band like Ded is rearing its head at the right time. There are some modern flairs, but for the most part they are just combining Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Flaw, and others into a groove based, melodic, glitch sound infused….thing.

In This Moment – Ritual
Genre: Metalcore
Origin: Los Angeles, California
Label: Roadrunner/Atlantic

I feel like my inclusion of this record this week will only appeal to a handful of readers, the rest of you will cry "I thought it was METAL Injection." Anyway, Maria Brink and her band on masked randos are back with a new record of the metalcore/hard rock sound they do very well. I really, really enjoy the cover of "In The Air Tonight" (stream below), but why do a lyric video? Everyone knows ALL the words to that song. The little of the rest of the record I've heard will probably appeal to fans.

Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan, and the rest are back with another album of melodic, technical, dad rock to brighten your Friday. They may not be heavy, but they are better musicians than you are. Even the overly excited tambourine man in the video below.

Nine Inch Nails – Add Violence
Genre: Hard rock/Industrial
Origin: Cleveland, Ohio
Label: The Null Corporation
Buy now on Nin.com
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross took a break from making soundtracks for Oscar bait to make a few Nine Inch Nails songs. Neat! This is the second of three EPs the guys are dropping whenever they remember that NIN is a thing. "Less Than" and "This Isn't The Place" already make me dig this one more than Not The Actual Events, and I look forward to the rest and whatever the "Physical Component" is this time. I'm guessing just a bag of bleach and a few trading cards of professional golfers or something.

Tau Cross – Pillar Of Fire
Genre: Heavy metal/crust
Origin: Montreal, Canada/Isle of Skye, Scotland/Minneapolis, United States
Label: Relapse
Buy now on Amazon.com
On their second album, this international quintet of are once again taking nasty, crusty metal and infusing some surprisingly catchy melodies. I haven't heard too much like this band, and that's pretty cool. They're like if High On Fire slowed down a bit, listed to some punk, but refused to tone down any of their distortion.

Looks like fans still waiting for the next Time record, are gonna have to keep on waiting. Instead, Jari and the boys are heading into the forest! This is still a pretty rad melodic death metal record that includes four lengthy tracks about the four seasons. The Fancy version of the release (The Forest Package) includes instrumental versions of the record, a remaster of their debut album, and a live set from 2013. Aaron has a full review here.
