Last week we, alongside a bunch of other media outlets, got ridiculously excited over Guns N' Roses potentially teasing a reunion of their Appetite For Destruction lineup. The band is currently three-fifths of that lineup on its Not In This Lifetime tour with vocalist Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, and bassist Duff McKagan, and is just missing guitarist Izzy Stradlin and drummer Steven Adler.
The potential teases included billboards with caricatures of all five band members, as well as a landing page counting down to Thursday at 9PM. Now it seems as though one new billboard has spoiled the surprise – this is all a campaign for a remastered and expanded version of Appetite For Destruction due out June 29. The aforementioned splash page is also now broadcasting a loop of the pre-Guns N' Roses song "Shadow of Your Love," which was recorded without Slash and with original guitarist Tracii Guns.
Blabbermouth says the box set is four CDs and seven 12" LPs, which contain a total of 73 songs, 49 of which are unreleased. The music in the box is a remastered version of the album, 1986's Live ?!*@ Like A Suicide, an untitled EP of b-sides, 25 songs previously unreleased from the album's sessions, and two previously unreleased tracks from the band's sessions with Mike Clink.
Though if you need even more proof, Amazon (as usual) has leaked a listing for a deluxe CD box set for the same date as the billboard. We'll keep you posted with the official news when it breaks, but maybe temper your expectations for this one a bit.
