Gorgoroth hit some line-up changes in 2012 and remained on tour/generally quiet throughout most of 2013… except for now, when they've announced they're doing a new record for 2014! Rejoice, black metal fans!
Gorgoroth are currently in the studio recording their upcoming record Instinctus Bestialis, because latin names are really black metal and trve. The band said on their Facebook page earlier on in September:
All demos and pre-recordings for the next Gorgoroth album Instinctus Bestialis have been completed, and Tomas Asklund has now started recording the drums for the album. The band has also made an endorsement deal with Jim Dunlop.
The album is slated for early 2014 and the lineup is now Infernus on guitar like always, Tomas Asklund on drums (ex-Dissection, Dark Funeral), Bøddel on bass (ex-Obituary), and vocalist Atterigner (Triumfall). The best part about this post isn't even that Gorgoroth are coming out with a new album… it's totally that Frank Watkins from Obituary came up with a super Norwegian name to be in a black metal band.
