Exmortus is currently holed up at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with producer Zack Ohren (Immolation, Fallujah) working on a new album, though they've undergone a bit of a lineup change. Exmortus states that drummer Mario Moreno and guitarist David Rivera will be "stepping out for this session" and will be replaced by Warbringer's vocalist/guitarist Chase Becker and drummer Cody Nunez for the album.
Whether or not Moreno and Nunez are permanently out of the band remains to be seen, but right now they're still listed as members on Exmortus' Facebook.
"We're all stoked to record the new album with Zack, it's the third time we've worked together and we feel very comfortable with him," states Conan. "He is a great engineer and always gets the best performances from the band. It's unfortunate that [drummer] Mario Moreno and [guitarist] David Rivera will be stepping out for this session, but nonetheless we're very excited to record with good friends and awesome. Can't wait to release these heavy tunes."
Exmortus will release its new album in 2018 via Prosthetic Records.
