Enslaved's 2016 was mostly a celebration of its 25th anniversary as a band, though it did come with some bittersweet news – the retirement of clean vocalist and keyboardist Herbrand Larsen. Larsen was a part of the band from 2004 to 2016, and has not been replaced (to the best of our knowledge).
So now with 2017 here and ready to do whatever the hell it's going to do, Enslaved has returned with more good news! A new album! Right at the tail end of a statement from the band thanking everyone for a good year, Enslaved says news of a new album is coming very soon.
