Enslaved will reissue their 1992 demo Yggdrasill on December 2. The reissue was remastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios and features liner notes from both Enslaved's Grutle Kjellson and Ivar Bjørnson. Better yet, the reissue also comes with the bonus track "Enslaved" for maximum early Enslaved material!
"For a band seemingly obsessed with the concepts of roots and what springs from them; that would be us, yes – Yggdrasil is the exploding seed, the rampant alpha and the All from which everything we do and do not today springs," said Bjørnson.
"It is a release of which I am immensely proud of and have endless tenderness for. Youthful pure passion for music, disregard for any perceived rules and dogmas – I try to let this inspire everything we do to this day, however different we may or may not sound today. Getting to finally release this in proper fashion through By Norse Music, the label I own and run with my best friends – now that is truly a massive milestone for me."
Pre-orders in the US are available here and in Europe here. In the meantime, you can stream the remastered version of Yggdrasill below.
