Now that Dark Tranquillity has pretty much wrapped up the touring cycle for 2013's Construct, it's time for the band to take some time off the road and focus on a new record! According to frontman Mikael Stanne in a video interview posted below:
"This actually really concludes the Construct touring cycle. [We will have played] 160 shows for this album … so once we're done and we're back, we'll start working on a new album. [We'll play] a few festivals, but mainly, it's about writing. So I really, really look forward to that."
Hmmm… I'm always curious as to what bands mean when they say "working on a new album." Was any of it written during the tour and "working on it" means just unknotting the kinks and getting it prepared for the studio? Or does this mean the band will sit down and actively start writing the new record? Here's hoping Dark Tranquillity can work with enough efficiency and creativity to knock our socks off in 2015!
