When Slipknot released their "All Out Life" single last October, many fans assumed it would eventually end up on the sixth new studio album, We Are Not Your Kind. But then, the album was announced, the tracklist was revealed, and there was no "All Out Life" on there.
Some fans speculated this may have had to do with their pending litigation with Chris Fehn – assuming that he played on the song and they didn't want him netting additional royalties. But that does not seem to be the reason according to Corey Taylor.
In another excerpt from their interview with Kerrang!, Taylor revealed the song just didn't fit the narrative of the album saying:
“[All Out Life isn’t on the album] from a standpoint of it was kind of its own thing that really just let people know that we weren’t gone, and that we were still looking forward and working on music. It was just such a catchy song that it made sense to release it. But now, in context with the story that we’re telling [on ‘We Are Not Your Kind’], we weren’t sure if we were going to put it on there.”
Ultimately, it does not matter. Fans can stream the new song all they want and make their own playlists, rearranging the songs however they please.
