Devin Townsend is aiming to release his new album Empath is March 2019, which he's now revealed will be about 80 minutes long.
In addition to featuring Mike Keneally (Dethklok), Morgan Ågren (Kaipa, Casualties of Cool), Anup Sastry (ex-Skyharbor, Marty Friedman), Nathan Navarro and Sam Paulicelli (Decrepit Birth), Townsend has taken to Twitter to mention that vocalist Elliot Desgagnés (Beneath The Massacre, Conflux) will also be in the mix providing some low growls.
Empath is being tracked by ex-Periphery bassist Adam "Nolly" Getgood and will feature a bonus disc of "demos," which Townsend fans should be used to seeing included in his releases at this point.
It will be a single, rammed (80 minute) album, with a full second disk of ‘bonus tracks’ that are suspiciously complete…

Cheers to Elliot Einstien from Beneath The Massacre for laying down brutal vocals for my ‘choir’. A guys gotta know his limitations, and guttural vocals are not my strong suit… I just sound like SuperGrover when I try. He is a beast and it really completes the frequencies.

…I can scream like my balls are caught in a taffy puller, but low death metal vocals, I just sound hilarious. :)
