BARREN EARTH Enters The Studio, They Won't Leave Until All The Beer Is Gone

Metal Injection Finnish favorites Barren Earth have entered Helsinki's Sonic Pump Studios to record the follow-up to last year's debut Curse of the Red River. The band has been actively reporting updates via their Facebook page but has yet to reveal the name or date of the new LP. What we do know is that the sophomore release is set for Autumn 2011, with artwork by Paul Romano (Hate Eternal, Mastodon) and once again mixed by Dan Swano (Katatonia, Opeth). Dudes, if you aren't hip to this band yet or missed them on The Finnish Metal Tour (along with Finntroll, Ensiferum, and Rotten Sound) earlier this year, then I recommend you check them out ASAP. In my opinion, they are not just a Finnish super group, but they legitimately write some of the best melodic death tunes you'll find today. As you can see by the trailer the band posted (check it out after the jump), it looks like they're having a blast recording the new album.

If you missed it, I interviewed the drummer of Barren Earth, Marko Tarvonen, on The Finnish Metal Tour a few months back. Check it out.
