BABYMETAL Announces Comeback Album The Other One, Two 2023 Shows

They're back!

Babymetal 2022

Babymetal released their career retrospective 10 Babymetal Years in December 2020, and seemingly either went on hiatus or broke up the following year. In a statement at the time, Babymetal said "The 3 metal spirits that have been shining since 2010, even if they were to leave Earth, would continue to shine forever in our hearts and across the Metal Galaxy. A legend turns into a myth which turns into a Living Legend… What lies ahead beyond the end of the stairway to becoming a Living Legend is something only the Fox God knows."

Now the band has returned with the announcement of a brand new record called The Other One due out March 24, 2023. Babymetal will release five singles between October and March, and will also play a two-day show called Babymetal Returns – The Other One on January 28 and January 29, 2023 at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Tokyo.

"After the 10th anniversary year on October 10, 2021, Babymetal's numerous Legends have been sealed. Then, in April 2022 The Other One a plan to restore the petrified Babymetal through the virtual world Metalverse, was launched," reads the band's website.

"That's another story of Babymetal… This work is a concept album that restores Babymetal songs that we didn't know. 10 parallel worlds that exist beyond the time and space that were revealed during the restoration plan The Other One to solve the mystery sealed in The Other One – Black Box. 10 theme songs are now clear!!"
