Alice In Chains has been extremely vague about their coming album, but guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell has opened up a bit to Guitar World. Cantrell says the album was recorded at Studio X in Seattle, WA, in Nashville, TN at the home studio of famed producer Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Mastodon), at Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood, and at Cantrell's own house.
The album is mixed by Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens Of The Stone Age), and Cantrell says it's a lot of different genres that Alice In Chains hasn't touched before.
“It’s a record we haven’t done yet, I can tell you that. But it’s also a record that has all the elements of anything you would expect from us. It’s got our fingerprint. And we’re really proud of the material that we wrote and the performances we captured. There’s some really heavy shit, some really ugly stuff, some real beautiful stuff, some weirdo trippy shit… it’s good!”
The band has also completely deleted everything off their Instagram and have begun posting photos from what we're assuming are the recording sessions. So prepare yourselves for some new Alice In Chains soon and catch 'em on tour at one of their seemingly infinite dates.
