Misfits will be celebrating Halloween this year with a show that's taking place… somewhere. It seems like the general consensus based on the below tweet is that Misfits will play Dallas this Halloween, but the band has not yet announced an official location or date. The band also teases that they've clearly got an idea for the lineup of the show, but again – nothing has been announced. So maybe just keep your calendar clear, especially if you're in the Dallas area.
"Where will the Original Misfits perform LIVE to celebrate Halloween 2022 and what other fiendish sights and sounds will appear on the bill…? Details coming soon Fiends."
In the meantime, Misfits is scheduled to play Walk Among Us in full at the coming Riot Fest this September. This is all fairly in line with vocalist Glenn Danzig's plans never to tour again, but to just do shows "here and there." Danzig said in a recent interview "I don't think I'm going to tour anymore. I'm just going to fly out to a show here or there. I'll maybe be down to do some one-offs. But I just don't see myself getting on a tour bus anymore… Yeah. I think I'm done."
Danzig also touched on potentially putting out more music. He said he's still writing songs here and there, but isn't sure he'll put out another full length album ever again. He later added that "people are stealing music left and right," and that spending money on doing a full-length doesn't seem worth it.
"I write songs here and there. Lately, I seem to be writing more soundtrack stuff. I don't know that I'm ever going to do another album again. I might do an EP or I might just record some songs and put them out for free on the internet. We'll see. It could be that right now I'm just not interested, and then a month from now I'll be in the studio. It depends. I've got to be excited about working in order to go do it. And right now I'm not that excited."
