With the rumors circulating that Metallica haven't made any profits since 2010, it helped explain why the band had no problems doing a lot of festival touring over the last few years. Fests pay big bucks and Metallica can use some disposable income right now to help offset the costs of their own tanked festival and their tanked movie. It's also another excuse to escape the studio, even though the band promise they are writing now.
The next stop on the Metallica Recoup Lost Funds Tour is Chicago, IL for Lollapalooza 2015. The band will be joining Paul McCartney and Florence + the Machine as headliners of the three day fest, happening from July 31st to August 2nd. While there are plenty of genres of music represented, Metallica is the only metal band booked on the festival. But I guess if your tastes aren't just for metal, there is plenty to enjoy here.
