Early yesterday morning, Manowar's official Facebook page announced some U.S. dates on their Kings Of Metal MMXIV World Tour. Initially, the band had stated that the tour was kicking off in Russia in March, but these new U.S. dates are happening throughout February starting in royal Oak, Michigan on the 7th. Unlike previous years, Manowar are playing a decent amount of dates for the U.S. portion of this tour. But, for whatever reason, they're snubbing much of the midwest and all of the east coast.

This is a fairly egregious slap in the face to fans on the eastern side of the country. We'll not only have to pay what could potentially be an exorbitant ticket price (the cost for a ticket to one of the band's 2011 Cleveland performances was $80), but we'll have to come up with several hundred dollars for travel and lodging as well. Manowar's decision to forsake an entire half of the country isn't unheard of – bands typically do this sort of thing – but it's weird they're ignoring Cleveland and New York completely. Both areas are full of true metal people and that's Manowar's crowd. Plus, New York is the band's home turf.
But there's no sense crying over spilt milk like some wimpy false metal poser. If you can't see them on this tour, they'll be back in the states again because MAOWAR MANOWAR LIVIN' ON THE ROAD!!! If you are lucky enough to live in or near a city they're playing, you should definitely go. Manowar put on a great live show, and you'll get your money's worth since the band is playing Kings of Metal in its entirety AND a second separte greatest hits set. In the mean time, check out this awesome rant Joey got into during one of the Cleveland dates in 2011. I was there and it was marvelous. He seems hilariously angry and at one point he starts talking about the high quality of Manowar merchandise. HAIL AND KILL, TRUE METAL CONSUMERS!!!
