Oh my god! This is THE greatest idea ever. People have done metal festivals before, but now it's been taken to the next level: a heavy metal cruise. That's right: 4 days on the sea, from Miami to Mexico How could a 4 day cruise from Mexico with all the food you can eat covered in the price of admission, with some of the finest metal live happening the entire trip. Seventeen bands (out of 40) have already been confirmed for the trek including Amon Amarth, Testament, Death Angel, Sodom, Obituary, and Finntroll and more. Seriously, this is a metal vacation wet dream. I'm surprised nobody thought of it earlier. Here is the full lineup and press release:

Are they going to let any more bands from the San Francisco Bay Area on board? When are they putting to sea again? Where do they sail to next? Many questions that will be answered soon, but for now they are FORBIDDEN to leave! 70000TONS OF METAL, The World's Biggest Floating Heavy Metal Festival is really thrashing it up here in the Bay Area. 17 out of 40 and counting…

The confirmed 17 out of 40 bands are:

Amon Amarth
Death Angel
Epica
Finntroll
Forbidden
Moonspell
Obituary
Raven
Saxon
Sodom
Sonata Arctica

Make no mistake, 70000TONS OF METAL is not your grandma's cruise. It's also not one of the cruises that share the ship with normal cruise guests. This is an all heavy metal cruise! And since there is no backstage area you will have the opportunity to mingle side-by-side with the artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario that has no comparison. It's like everyone has a backstage pass!
