Heavy metal lost a rock god on Monday, Dec. 28th as Motorhead frontman Ian Frasier "Lemmy" Kilmister died suddenly from an aggressive form of cancer. He had only learned of his prognosis two days before his death, and in the wake of his death many notable metal musicians posted touching tributes to the Motorhead frontman. Today, Lemmy's closest friends and family are gathering to pay tribute to the legendary bassist and with all the love pouring in from all over the world, Motorhead is live-streaming the services online for free so everybody can share in the celebration of Lemmy's life.
The services happened on January 9th and feature touching tributes from Metallica, Slash, Dave Grohl, Rob Halford, and more can be seen below:

The official statement from the band about the services mentions how anybody looking to make donations can do so to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.
We want you ALL to be a part of this memorial service.
So wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch with fellow Motörheadbangers and friends. GO to your favorite bar, or your favorite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us.
Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm’s life at home.Whatever your venue, and however you can, let’s be sure to gather globally on Saturday 9th and celebrate the life of our dear friend and irreplaceable icon.
Recently, a petition had been started to name a newly discovered heavy metal element after the iconic Motorhead frontman. The petition to call an element "Lemmium" has already garnered over 120,000 signatures.
