Before the Labor Day holiday, we asked you to decide what the metal song of the summer is. After nearly 8,000 votes, the answer is clear. This year's metal song of the summer is:
1) The Black Dahlia Murder's "Into The Everblack"
Coming in with a quarter of the votes, the Detroit blackened death metal masters beat out all the competition to be declared the metal song of the summer! The difference between the second place and third place songs came down to just one vote:
2) Amon Amarth "Deceiver of the Gods"
With 623 votes, the vikings almost reigned supreme.
3) Battlecross "Force Fed Lies"
These Detroit natives took their show on the road with Mayhem Fest this summer, and were leading the pack for quite a while but ended up with 622 votes.
