LAMB OF GOD Frontman's Grammy Nom Medallion Sells For $3,050 – For Charity!

It just sold for $3,050, but the guy who bought it once again donated it. The good karma keeps coming!

It just sold for $3,050, but the guy who bought it once again donated it. The good karma keeps coming!

Years back, Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe auctioned his Grammy medallion for the band's song "Redneck" being nominated in the Best Metal Performance category to raise money for his friend Todd's two sons suffering from Myontonic Muscular Dystrophy. The winner of the medallion ended up donating it back to Todd, who ended up selling it 11 years later to benefit Blythe's sister-in-law Bianca’s GoFundMe to pay for her breast cancer treatment.

The medallion was recently sold to one Dan Rubino, who told Toss and Blythe to just keep it despite paying $3,050 for it. Blythe says he and his friend will attempt to auction off the medallion once again next year to raise money for a currently undetermined charity. At this rate, the Grammy medallion is going to deserve its own medal for raising so much money for good causes

“Going once, going twice… SOLD!!!!! My Grammy nomination medallion & certificate for the song “Redneck” went for $3,050!!!!! Man, that was exciting! I even did an attempt at the live-auctioneering voice thing (you can watch it in my live stories.) Now, here’s the UNBELIEVABLY COOL part of this whole thing: the first time I auctioned off this medallion 11 years ago it was to benefit Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy research after my friend @toddbstone’s sons were diagnosed with the disease.

The winner of the first auction, one Mister Dan Gerawan of the great state of California, gave the medallion to Todd’s kids & said “Keep it!” Years later, Todd heard about my sister-in-law Bianca’s GoFundMe for her breast cancer treatment, & decided to pay it foreword & re-auction the medallion to help with her medical bills. Today, one Mister Dan Rubino of the great state of Georgia won the second auction for the medallion.

After the auction, Todd called him & Dan said “Don’t bother shipping it to me- y’all keep it & do what you want with it.” FREAKING AMAZING! So Todd & I talked & next year we will figure out a different good cause that we can auction this thing off for, a charity of some sort or a life-saving medical research foundation or something that will help others! Holy cow, this Grammy medallion is gathering up some good karma. So thank you to Todd & BOTH Dans for being downright AWESOME people.

We’ve sold this thing TWICE already, & although both of the guys who bought it were big lamb of god fans, they didn’t keep it- they just wanted to help out someone else- there are still plenty of decent people out there that help renew my faith in human nature. I salute y’all!”
