The only time I even remember Within Temptation exists is when I have to write about them, which is right now. Apparently they've got a new record called Hydra coming out in 2014, so hooray and all that. Usually it would warrant a few sentences and then I'd move on, but I'm intrigued by the fact that rapper Xzibit and a few other weird guest appearances are going to be on it. What?
Hydra, which is out sometime in 2014 via Nuclear Blast, isn't well-known to us in terms of information at this point. What we do know is somehow the band got rapper Xzibit and Soul Asylum singer Dave Pirner on the record. It's such a starnge combination that I feel compelled to at least listen through once, because why the living hell would they just choose Xzibit? Obviously they had something in mind and I'm curious to know what it is. The record will also feature spots by ex-Nightwish vocalist Tarja Turunen and Devil You Know vocalist Howard Jones, which makes actual sense.
