Standing at 5'7", Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan might not seem like an imposing fellow, but you might want to think twice before picking a fight. Besides spending his teen years in military prep schools, Keenan is an avid participant in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu.
Sixteen years ago, Keenan recieved his blue belt in the sport from Rickson Gracie of the legendary Gracie family and over the weekend, the Tool frontman upgraded to purple while in Hawaii.
The news was broken by trainer Luis ‘Limao' Heredia, who posted the above photo on his Instagram. Maynard confirmed the news himself posting a photo update to his owned an operated Jui-Jitsu center's Facebook page:
