Excellent news to start the week as The Dillinger Escape Plan has plans to hit the studio to record their follow-up to 2013's monstrous Everyone Is The Killer.

In promotion of the band's upcoming Australian headlining tour, guitarist Ben Weinman was interviewed by The Rock Pit, where he mentioned that the band is getting into the studio sometime "around November." So it sounds safe to say that we can expect a new Dillinger Escape Plan record in 2016.

Interestingly enough, Weinman says that the band doesn't write collaboratively at all. As the main songwriter, and the only existing original member, he records scratch tracks with drummer Billy Rymer and then he sends those to the remaining guys to record their parts.

My favorite part of the interview is when Weinman talks about singer Greg Puciato's involvement in the writing process:

"…and it's really cool, especially, to hear Greg [Puciato], our singer, come back and hear his take on it. I think the good thing about him not being part of the process until it's almost done is that he hears it like a fan; it hits him exactly how we intended it to hit somebody. To be able to be moved by it and create based on that inspiration and influence, and I hear it back almost fresh, where it's got a whole new level and layer to it, it's a pretty exciting process, to be honest with you."

The entire interview is well worth the read if you are into Dillinger as much as we are. You can read it here.

ICYMI: The band also collaborated last year with rapper Jarren Benton on a track called "Rage" as part of Converse's CONS EP series. Listen below:
