Testament have been rather high on the hog of late, with legendary drummer Dave Lombardo entering the fold once again and reinvigorating the band with fresh energy and excitement. That energy is so palpable, that it may very well soon carry over to the recording studio, according to another legend—Testament singer Chuck Billy—in a chat with host Eddie Trunk on his Sirius XM show.
“We had a great time [playing with Dave Lombardo]," said Billy. "I think he really enjoys playing in the band, enjoys the music. And we’re now talking about, ‘Let’s talk about maybe making a new record.’ So hopefully that’s in the future.”
When Trunk pressed Billy a little further on the possibility of a new Testament LP, the matador Billy shared, "Well, Eric (Peterson, Testament guitarist) has a bunch of music… He’s gotta go all in mentally to create some songs, so after [the second U.S. leg of The Bay Strikes Back tour] we don’t have anything in the books till April. So from November till April, it’s time to get in there and start working on new songs. So hopefully we’ll have a new record out by next year.”
Let's hope the boys can rally a new Testament LP together soon enough, But, in the meantime, The Bay Strikes Back tour picks up again on Monday night in Connecticut. You can check the dates out below.
