Ghost will end their North American tour with two massive solo shows in Los Angeles, CA at the Kia Forum. Turns out they might make a live album and a film out of both.
In an interview with Revolver, Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge danced around the rumor of a live album and film without explicitly denying it. Forge only mentioned that the location and shows are a great place to do both, and that "those two shows will be different than the others."
"Anywhere that we play two shows is an excellent place to do something like that," said Forge. "One thing that is on the short list of things we've never done is a film — an actual presentation of what we're like onstage that goes beyond just a broadcast. So, we're hoping that is gonna turn out really well. I don't wanna oversell it, but those two shows will be different than the others."
Forge also addressed the potential of resurrecting a previous Papa Emeritus as hinted at in some of the lore videos, saying "Well, it's a possibility. That's the great thing about make believe. Anything is possible." Of course the real speculation is that Papa Emeritus IV is going to be killed at one of the Los Angeles shows, considering some of the dialogue in Chapter 16.
It would also make sense given the fate of his predecessors… but maybe it'll be different this time? Ghost also recently launched a game around their Phantomime EP release where players explore the clergy's living quarters, and one person found a receipt for a gun in Papa Emeritus IV's room. So we'll see how that plays out.
