Emeritus IV Death And Taxes

Looks Like GHOST Is Going To Kill PAPA EMERITUS IV This Year, Says Jesus Is Coming

Seems like it's happening this September.

Ghost just streamed the sixteenth chapter of their story and it seems like Papa Emeritus IV's time is coming to an end. In the latest episode, Sister Imperator mentions to Emeritus IV that a second show at the Kia Forum has been added on September 12 all while Mr. Saltarian wheels a brand new casket past the two as they're talking. A few things to note here:

  • Both the September 11 and 12 shows at the Kia Forum do not feature Amon Amarth. So it's probably safe to assume that they're going to be something special.
  • Imperator reminds Emeritus that "Jesus is coming" toward the end of the episode. Given there are now two nights at the Kia Forum, and there was a "Jesus Is Coming" poster spotted in Hollywood earlier this year… something is definitely up.
  • Back in October, Mr. Salterian said to Papa Emeritus IV midway through the band's then-recent chapter of their story that the "shows are scheduled, I KNOW when your time is up."
  • Oh, and in an interview this year, Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge said the band is plotting some tours but will debut a "change" beforehand. Which is the only thing that doesn't jive here – what could happen beforehand?

Ghost will hit the road with Amon Amarth this August. Get the full touring schedule below, and maybe start thinking about what you'll say at Emeritus IV's funeral. He seemed like a good dude, you know?
