After about a month has passed, Discogs usually runs a list showcasing the most expensive items sold on their website. Discogs just published their November list and someone paid $2,713 for a box set of Metallica's 2020 live album S&M2. According to the release page, the box contains original sheet music signed by all four members of Metallica and was limited to only 500 copies that Metallica Fifth Member contestants could win. The set contains four LPs, two CDs, and a Blu-Ray of the show.
I hope whoever paid that much money is very happy with their purchase. There are still a few left on the site, and they're around the same price. You can also just buy a regular edition of the album for $70 at most on Metallica's website.
As for the future of Metallica, drummer Lars Ulrich recently revealed they're neck deep in writing new material. Both guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo called the new material "very collaborative", adding that they've got quite a lot of new music to sort through.
