SLIPKNOT's Clown Says "Paul Gray Will Be A Part Of The Next Record"

Slipknot were deeply affected by the passing of their bassist, Paul Gray, after accidentally overdosing in 2010. The band have slowly been putting back the pieces, hitting the road in tribute to Paul and putting the wheels in motion on a new record. Everybody is writing, and it turns out before his passing, Paul Gray wrote some material that will most likely appear on the record according to percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan, who said:

“There are songs that he’s written that will be a part of the next record,” says Crahan in the video interview posted below. “We’re all going to have to think like him, and he’ll be there. He’ll be there; there’s no way [that] Paul Gray [will not be] a part of anything that we do for the rest of our career.”

When we spoke to Clown earlier this year, the band was still dealing with Paul's death and it looks like they are far-better along, and more creatively refreshed and ready to write. The band has said previously they will enter the studio in 2013.
