There's been so much talk about a new System of a Down record that's becoming difficult to know exactly what's going on. Fortunately, we've got Serj here to set us straight!
Serj has made it pretty known that he's in no rush to make a new System record, and only went further to say the same thing on his Reddit AMA. He went on to say things like:
No, that is not true [about the band having a new record planned]. A quick scan of press online will show that we have not yet agreed on a timetable for another record due to its time commitments.
Or when he was asked if System would ever do another record:
Yes of course, otherwise I wouldn’t be discussing it at all … I am not opposed to making a System record at all. It just has to be the right time for us all in the band
Or about that time Shavo inexplicably went onto the System Facebook page and started saying that the band would be moving on without Serj if they needed to:

Outside all the doom and gloom of there being no System of a Down record in the forseeable future, one fan did ask why the band hardly ever plays anything off their Steal This Record! album:
Good Question: One I always ask the other guys. That is why we rehearsed and played "A.D.D." and rehearsed a few others from Steal. i would one day like to do a full Steal this Album live show or tour.
I really, really hope that last part happens. So we'll keep you posted as things are said and retracted and restated and all that other fun stuff! Who knows what will happen next!
