SLIPKNOT Comment on Identity of Mysterious New Member: "It's Nobody's F'N Business"

new slipknot percussionist

Who the hell is the ninth member of Slipknot? That seems to be the biggest question coming out of the release of the band's new masks and new song. The band haven't said anything and if you are an interviewer looking to ask them about it, they might bite back.

Kerrang! published its new issue which contains an interview with the band, and they dared broach the subject of the ninth member and didn't exactly enjoy the outcome. When Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan were asked if they could reveal the identity of the new member, the Slipknot members responded with an emphatic "No!"

“The position you may or may not be talking about is nobody’s fucking business,” Clown responded, before emphasising that it’ll be up to the fans to make up their own minds once they catch Slipknot performing live across the world this year: “The proof is in the pudding.”

While they wouldn't say the member wasn't Chris Fehn, it's safe to assume Fehn is out of the band. Fehn has pending litigation against Slipknot claims the band was keeping money from him, setting up corporations that he was not aware of. Taylor has publicly said he and his band are being wrongfully accused.

Fehn contends that frontman Corey Taylor and founder M. Shawn Crahan, along with their manager Rob Shore, created six separate companies. Fehn is suing for two counts of "breach of fiduciary duty," one count of "breach of implied in fact contract" and one count of "unjust enrichment." We break down the entire lawsuit filing here. Slipknot's response in the court can be found here.

Here are some stills of the new member from Slipknot's recently released "Unsainted" music video.
