Rumor Killer: MOTORHEAD's Phil Campbell Is Not Dead

The rumors of his death are completely false.

The rumors of his death are completely false.

Just this morning, we reported that Motorhead had to cancel a few gigs because longtime guitarist Phil Campbell was rushed to a hospital in Germany. At the time, it was not reported why he was rushed to the hospital. The health scare comes just weeks after founding drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor passed away leading many metalheads' minds to wander.

Earlier today, a rumor started being passed around that Campbell died at the hospital in Germany but at the time we were not able to confirm the report. The rumor started on a since-deleted Instagram post by a local Brooklyn bar owner.

Being the brazen journalist that I am, I reached out to Motorhead's PR team, who just got back to me with the following:

Phil is fine. Thank you for inquiring. The tour resumes tomorrow.

So, the rumor is officially false. The band's European tour resumes tomorrow at the Scandinavium in Goteborg, Sweden. More dates can be found here.
