Maynard James Keenan has a love/hate relationship with Tool fans, calling most of them "insufferable."
So, when a bunch of fans started tweeting Maynard news of the rumor we posted yesterday that Tool would be releasing a 2.5 hour double album called Decem very shortly and going on a big national tour, Maynard chose to respond briefly and succinctly:

It sounded like bullshit to us, and we have a feeling that based on Maynard's tweet, it probably is bullshit.
Then again, as many Tool fans reminded us in the comments yesterday – Tool love to fuck with their fans around the time they're about to release an album, previously posting fake tracklistings, etc. So a conspiracy theorist might think that OF COURSE Maynard would deny these rumors.
I guess we can just wait and see.
