Maynard James Keenan Sounds Fed Up With TOOL And Its Fans

Keenan sounds pissed.

Keenan sounds pissed.

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt should hang out sometime and vent about being asked the same question incessantly. Keenan recently gave a lengthy interview to Phoenix New Times and sounds absolutely exasperated about the process of a new record… like, maybe we should be worried about Tool being a band anymore.

When asked about the new record, he simply offers a non-answer.

"There's nothing to say," he says. "I can't."

He also comments on the band's only show in 2015 and he sounds none too pleased about being with the band live, commenting "they had to con me into it." As you can see, Tool is having a fantastic time keeping all its members happy! Especially when they've got to real with insufferable fans, as Keenan comments on when asked about the band's sense of humor.

"Yeah, it's there," he says. "But people miss it because they're so focused on the other bullshit."

He shakes his head.

"It's lost. Insufferable people . . . It's just ridiculous, retards. I'm sorry. Can't help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up."

So we'll see what happens. This might not be good.
